Greg Grispart -- Tenor Sax, Clarinet, Flute

Greg Grispart is a multi-instrumentalist musician with accomplished skills as a performer in a wide range of genres. Early on, Greg earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education and Classical Clarinet Performance from Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University. While attending Rutgers he was a member of the Grammy Nominated Rutgers Wind Ensemble under the direction of Dr. William Berz and can be heard on 5 of their CDs. In 2005 Greg performed with them at the CBNDA National Conference held at New York University and also presented a concert at Carnegie Hall later that spring. Greg also has had the privilege of performing in the Rutgers University Orchestra, the Rutgers Philharmonia, the Rutgers Symphony Band as well as the Rutgers Jazz Ensemble Too.

Greg has gone on to play as a side man with such notable groups and performers as The Duprees, Lou Christie, The Skyliners, Sonny Geraci, The Four Lads, The Four Aces, Lenny Welch, Little Anthony, Chuck Berry, Gerry Lee Lewis, BJ Thomas, Shirley Alston Reeves, Bruce Springsteen, The Jazz Lobsters Big Band, The National Wind Ensemble under the direction of H. Robert Reynolds, The Brookdale Big Band, Danny V’s 52nd Street Billy Joel Tribute Band, The Garden State Symphonic Band, The New Jersey Pops, The Metropolitan Woodwind Ensemble, Gary Mazzaroppi, Chris Pinnella, Greg Gisbert, Steve Turre, Larry McKenna, David Glasser among many others.

Greg has performed in such venues as the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, The Izod Center, Carnegie Hall, The Museum of Natural History, The Hammerstein Ball Room, Trumpets Jazz Club, Chris’s Jazz Club in Philadelphia, the Count Basie Theater, House of Blues at Show Boat of Atlantic City, Westbury Music Fair, Keswick Theater, Patchogue Theater, Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, The Bickford Theater, The Grand Opera House of Wilmington and The Lyric Opera House of Baltimore just to name a few.

Greg’s teachers include Dr. Maureen Hurd, Vadim Lando and Ayako Oshima for classical clarinet, David Krakauer for klezmer clarinet, Gerry Cappuccio and Larry McKenna for jazz studies and music theory as well as Marion Evans for composing and arranging. He has also completed a Master’s Degree in Jazz Studies and Performance at The Maynard Ferguson Institute of Jazz, Rowan University studying with Denis DiBlasio.
