J. Brunka is a bassist and composer originally from Brooklyn, NY. Originally starting on guitar when he was young, music didn’t really take hold of him until he picked up a bass and started jamming with his friends in high school. Fast forward to today... J. Brunka can be seen performing in any variety of settings - from international music festivals to the local jazz club, from the pit of your favorite musical to dive bars (usually the most fun). Along the way he has performed and shared with many wonderful musicians, some of whom are very well known and more that are not as well known as they should be. He has appeared on recordings in many different genres including one platinum selling pop record. Mr. Brunka also maintains an active teaching schedule of private students and has presented workshops about bass playing, jazz and improvisation. |
