At age six Mitch starts studying drums with his dad, Al, the well-respected professional drummer and renowned teacher. Focused on classical percussion, jazz,and rock, he played with various bands during his K-12 years. As a young teen he starts teaching drums and playing professionally while also performing with the NJ All-State High School Band and Orchestra, and the first All-State College Jazz Band. He has played with many club date bands, performed in shows, worked with Clark Terry, Tom Jones, Victor Borge, Connie Francis, Harry Belafonte, and many other entertainers; toured with Andy Kaufman. While continuing his musical passions, Mitch obtained his undergrad Math and graduate Computer Science degrees embarking on a journey as a computer scientist. He continues to devote his time to computers, teaching, and drumming in diverse musical settings feeling fortunate to gig with many experienced and talented musicians in NJ/NY. Mitch resides in Berkeley Heights, NJ. |
